Try these pipelines
An AI reel maker turns your existing video clips into one finished edit. Add the footage, choose the frame and optional maximum length, describe the story and pace you want, and Video Reel selects useful moments, builds the sequence, mixes the requested audio, and returns an MP4.
How an AI reel maker works from video
Video Reel accepts between one and ten source clips. Their order is available to the editor, but the creative direction can ask for a different structure, a stronger opening, faster pacing, or emphasis on particular moments. The editor reviews the supplied media instead of blindly joining every file end to end.
You can choose 9:16 for an Instagram-style vertical reel, 16:9 for a wide video, 1:1, 4:5, or 4:3. Auto lets the editor choose a supported frame. The result is one video file, not a social post, so you still review and upload it to the destination platform yourself.
Make a reel in five steps
- Choose 1–10 source clips. Use footage that supports one idea. Remove obvious failed takes so the editor can spend the reel on useful material.
- Set the output frame. Choose 9:16 for a vertical Instagram Reel. Pick another aspect ratio when the destination calls for it.
- Add an optional duration cap. Set a maximum from 1 to 300 seconds. This is an upper limit: shorter source material is not stretched merely to fill it.
- Write the creative direction. Name the audience, intended story, opening hook, order, pace, visual treatment, audio balance, and any moments that must appear.
- Review the MP4. Check the opening seconds, crop, cut boundaries, spoken meaning, music level, and final frame before publishing.
Write an editing brief that makes decisions clear
A useful brief describes the result, not a list of editing buttons. For example: “Make a 25-second vertical reel for new customers. Open with the finished dish, then show preparation in three quick beats. Keep the chef’s explanation intelligible, use restrained transitions, preserve the food’s original colors, and end on the plated close-up.”
This gives the editor criteria for selecting moments and resolving tradeoffs. Mention exact moments only when they genuinely matter. If chronology is essential, say so; otherwise, let the strongest visual or claim become the hook. State what must remain unchanged, especially product color, spoken meaning, or the identity of a person.
Decide how the reel should sound
Enable Keep Clip Audio when dialogue or location sound from the originals belongs in the result. Leave it off when the source sound is distracting and the reel should use only separately supplied audio.
You may add one narration track and one background-music track. Describe their relationship in the brief—for example, keep speech clear and let music rise only between spoken sections. If the soundtrack does not exist yet, the guide to adding music to a video explains how to prepare and mix it.
Prepare an Instagram Reel without losing the subject
Choosing 9:16 establishes the vertical canvas, but the editor still needs to know what matters inside it. Identify the speaker, product, hands, demonstration, or text-free visual detail that should remain prominent. Footage with room around the subject gives the crop more flexibility than a tightly framed landscape shot.
Keep captions as a finishing step after the edit, because cuts change subtitle timing. The guide to adding subtitles with an SRT file covers that workflow. Pipe2.ai produces the MP4; platform-specific publishing, cover selection, and post copy remain separate tasks.
Know the limits before you start
The pipeline requires at least one clip and accepts no more than ten. Each source can be up to five minutes, the combined input files can total up to 1 GB, and the output can be no longer than five minutes. Results can vary with the footage and brief because the editor makes content-aware choices rather than applying a fixed template.
If you have one long recording and need to discover several standalone moments first, use the workflow for turning a long video into Shorts and Reels. Use Video Reel when you already have the source clips and want them shaped into one coherent finished edit.
Frequently asked questions
Can an AI reel maker create a reel from my existing videos?
Yes. Pipe2.ai Video Reel accepts 1–10 source clips, reviews the footage with your creative direction, and returns one edited MP4. It is an assembly and editing workflow, so you provide the clips rather than only a text prompt.
Can I make a 9:16 Instagram Reel?
Yes. Choose 9:16 as the output aspect ratio and describe which people, products, or actions must remain prominent. Review the exported MP4 before uploading it to Instagram or another vertical-video platform.
Does the reel keep audio from my original clips?
It can. Enable Keep Clip Audio to retain useful dialogue and sound from the source clips. You can also supply separate narration and background music for the final mix.
How many clips can I add, and how long can the reel be?
You can add 1–10 source clips. Each source clip can be up to five minutes, total input is limited to 1 GB, and the finished reel can be up to five minutes long.
