About Ideogram 4.5
What it does
Ideogram 4.5 is Ideogram's newest image model. In Image Generator it creates a 2K image from a text prompt, or edits up to five source images with a prompt, in 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3 or 3:4. In Image Editor it makes precise edits: with no aspect ratio selected, the result keeps the first image's size and every pixel the edit does not change is copied from the original. Extra images guide the edit as references for a product, material or style.
When to use it
- Posters, packaging and social graphics where short text must be spelled correctly. Put the words in quotation marks and say where they sit.
- Targeted fixes to a finished image, such as a new color, material, backdrop or line of text, without regenerating the rest.
- Several edits in a row on the same image, where shape, texture and color should stay steady from one edit to the next.
- Product and material swaps guided by a reference image of the item, fabric or finish you want.
- Exact layouts: Ideogram also accepts a structured JSON prompt when plain language cannot pin down text placement or colors.
What to know before you run it
Ideogram reads prompts literally, so describe only what should appear and put the main idea first. Enhance prompt lets Ideogram expand a short text prompt; turn it off to keep your exact wording. Quality sets speed and price: fast is cheapest, auto is balanced, and hd renders the most detail and costs more when source images are attached. Image Editor runs at medium quality, and very large source images are scaled down. Source images can be PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, HEIC or HEIF, up to 20 MB each, with an aspect ratio between 1:6 and 6:1. Text is most accurate in English and in short phrases.
