What it does
Seedance 2.0 Mini is the cheapest multimodal tier in the Seedance family on Pipe2. It takes a text prompt, a still image, or an existing video clip as its reference and returns a generated video. Through the Video Generator pipeline you can render at 480p, 720p, 1080p, or 4k, pick a clip length of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 15 seconds (or leave it on auto), and choose an aspect ratio from 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, and 21:9, or let the pipeline decide.
When to use it
- Running Video Generator on a text prompt alone when you want the mini tier's lower cost rather than the higher Seedance tiers.
- Image-to-video work: animating a product still into a reveal, or turning a lifestyle photo into a short moving ad.
- Video-to-video work: feeding a reference clip in and generating a new take from it.
- Drafting and iterating: sweep several prompts at 480p or 720p, then re-run the one you like at a higher resolution.
- Vertical and ultrawide deliverables from the same prompt, using the 9:16 and 21:9 aspect ratios the pipeline exposes.
What to know before you run it
This is the mini quality tier. It accepts the same image, video, and audio references as the larger Seedance tiers, at mini quality. That is the trade-off you are buying. No reference image is required; text-to-video works on a prompt alone, and images or clips are optional inputs. Length is one of the things that moves the number: the wholesale units behind this model are metered as separate 5-second and 11-second 720p tiers, so the clip length you pick is part of what you are billed on.
