Veo 3.1 Lite

What it does

Veo 3.1 Lite turns a text prompt into a short video with synchronized native audio, and can also animate a still image you supply. Output runs up to 8 seconds at 720p or 1080p. Inside the Video Generator pipeline you pick the aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, or 21:9) so the clip comes out framed for the place you plan to post it rather than cropped afterwards.

When to use it

• Running the Video Generator pipeline for cinematic shots where you want motion and audio in one pass, not a silent clip you score later.
• Product reveals and lifestyle ads that need a short, self-contained beat rather than a long sequence.
• Drafting: it is the cheapest Veo tier, so it suits iterating on prompts and framing before committing to a costlier run.
• Animating an existing still: image-to-video is supported, so a product photo or a rendered frame can be brought into motion.
• Producing the same idea in several aspect ratios, since the pipeline exposes vertical, square, and wide options.

What to know before you run it

Two tiers are listed here: 720p at 8 seconds and 1080p at 8 seconds. Check the pricing table on this page before choosing between them, and use the lower resolution while you are still testing prompts if it fits your budget. A reference image is optional (text-to-video works on its own), and image-to-video is there when you want to work from artwork you already have. This is the cheapest tier of the Veo line, capped at 8 seconds and 1080p. The Video Generator pipeline also exposes longer durations and 4K, which fall outside what this model covers.
